Today, September 1, is National Food Bank Day and the kick off of “Hunger Action Month” nationwide.
As we continue to pray for those in Texas effected by Hurricane Harvey, we were moved to action by stories involving local communities coming together to help one another!
We have decided to help our neighbors in the communities of San Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties by collecting donations of non-perishable food. Wesson Hearing Aid Center will be teaming with the Second Harvest Food Bank to bring attention the needs of over 35,000 people that receive help monthly from the local food bank.
Please join us at Wesson Hearing Aid Center as we support Hunger Action Month by bringing non-perishable food items into our Manteca office during the month of September. You can also donate directly to the food bank as they gladly accept monetary donations. For every $1 you donate, Second Harvest Food Bank is able to purchase $5 worth of food. Think of it this way: a $25 donation is $125 worth of food and is enough to feed a family of four. Second Harvest Food Bank serves over 30,000 people per month, including families, seniors, and children. Every dollar makes a difference!
